The best grapes on the estate are
set aside for this wine.
In late summer, while
the grapes are ripening,
we keep a close watch
on the old Tempranillo vines
in the five and a half hectares
of plot - "parcela",
in Spanish - Nš1.
Weekly inspections identify
individual vines and only
grapes which truly
give the mineral character
of our terroir will be used
for this, the flagship
wine of Bodegas
la Emperatriz.
