The wines from Finca La Emperatriz have once again been awarded 6 medals – 3 gold and 3 silver – at major international competitions.
At the International Wine Challenge held in the UK one of the world’s most influential competitions, our wines made from old vines stood out as some of the best among the more than 10,000 samples from 45 countries submitted for competition in this latest edition.
The panel of judges, led by internationally renowned experts such as Tim Atkin and Oz Clarke, awarded a gold medal to Finca La Emperatriz Viura Cepas Viejas 2011 and a silver medal to Finca La Emperatriz Garnacha Cepas Viejas 2011.
Besides, one of the world’s most popular competitions, the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, con un panel de cata que integra a expertos catadores de más de 40 nacionalidades, ha seleccionado tres de nuestros vinos entre los mejores de los presentados a este campeonato.
Finca La Emperatriz Terruño 2009, with a gold medal, is part of the exclusive selection of wines from Rioja which received these awards, while the wines Finca La Emperatriz Crianza 2009 and Finca La Emperatriz Reserva 2007 won a silver medal.
This last reference, Finca La Emperatriz Reserva 2007, added a gold medal to its list of awards, the one won at the Wine 100 competition held in Shanghai, where wines from the main regions of the world that are available to Chinese consumers in this fast-growing and fast-learning market were blind tasted.
The panel of judges of this competition included critics, journalists and expert tasters both from Asia and from Western countries, among whom were several Masters of Wine.
